Share an HEIC photo where JPG is required
Convert HEIC to JPG when a photo from your phone is not accepted by a website, document editor or recipient's app. The purpose is compatibility: you keep the picture but deliver it in the format the next step asks for.
You do not need to change your camera settings for every future photograph just to share the files you already have. Save the specific HEIC photos you need to JPG, and retain the originals for your photo library.
This HEIC to JPG converter produces still images. It is intended for the visible photo, not for preserving every feature that a phone's original photo package may contain.
How to convert HEIC to JPG
- Select the HEIC files from your device.
- Choose the JPG quality you want for the converted copies.
- Run the conversion, review each photo and download the JPG results.
No account is needed. The conversion takes place in your browser; keep the tab open until it finishes. How long a batch takes depends on the pictures and your device.
Each HEIC input must be no larger than 40 MB and 24 megapixels. A batch can contain up to 30 files and 160 MB of input data. Divide a large photo selection into smaller groups if it exceeds those limits.
Use the original photo, not a screenshot
If you can access the HEIC original, convert that file directly. Taking a screenshot of a photo can reduce the available detail and may include interface elements or a crop you did not intend.
Likewise, a small preview sent through another app may already have been reduced. A JPG made from the original HEIC is a more deliberate starting point than repeatedly saving copies of copies.
After conversion, compare the framing and orientation with your source photo. Review faces, small writing and other details important to the way you will use the JPG.
Choose JPG quality for the destination
A high JPG quality setting generally keeps more detail but produces a larger file. A lower setting can make a sharing copy smaller, with a greater risk of visible compression.
For a small attachment or profile picture, you may not need the full camera dimensions. Resize a copy to suit the destination rather than reducing quality aggressively while retaining every original pixel.
For a product photo or picture that someone will zoom into, inspect fine detail before lowering quality. Do not treat a successful conversion as proof that the result meets the recipient's visual requirements.
What a JPG copy does not preserve
The output is a conventional still picture. Do not rely on it to retain motion, alternate images, depth information, editing history or every property associated with your source phone file.
The converted JPG is also not an archival substitute for the HEIC original. If your photo library stores useful information or special display behavior with that original, keep it there and use the JPG as a separate delivery copy.
When accurate appearance matters, compare the converted picture in the application where it will be used. A format change is not a guarantee that every viewer will show brightness and color in exactly the same way.
If a converted photo is still rejected
Check the full upload requirement. The problem may be file size, image dimensions or the number of files rather than the format alone.
A form that accepts JPG can still reject a photo above its stated megabyte limit. Use image compression and check the actual output size. A form that requires particular dimensions may need a resized or cropped copy.
Make sure you choose the downloaded JPG when trying again. Keeping both versions in one folder can make it easy to accidentally select the original HEIC a second time.
HEIC to JPG questions
Can I convert HEIC to JPG without signing in?
Yes. Select the photos and run the conversion directly. Keep the page open while your browser processes the files.
Will this change my original HEIC photos?
The converter creates new downloadable copies. Keep the originals if you may want their original quality or phone-specific information later.
Will a Live Photo become a moving JPG?
No. This tool produces still JPG images and does not preserve motion. Keep the original photo and any associated motion content if you need that behavior.
Is the JPG guaranteed to be smaller?
No. HEIC may already store the picture compactly. Output size depends on the dimensions, picture content and JPG quality setting.
Why does one HEIC file fail while another works?
A file may be incomplete, outside the size or pixel limits, or use a variation the converter cannot decode. Try the original file again, check its limits and reduce the batch to identify the affected image.
Can I save as PNG instead?
Yes, choose PNG when that is the required output. PNG may create a much larger file and does not automatically add detail or transparency.
